Let me know when the walkthroughs are on YouTube. I accessed but am currently to tired to think about and dissect the information in the files. I can't stop yawning. Maybe it's because of the French fries and bacon I ate for brunch. And I'm also too tired to make sense of the umpteen too many comments meaning I have to scroll back and forth, which is very tedious. And I just received the "name" command, and I don't know what to use it for or how. It's all new to me.
Great game! After a certain point, my new files aren’t showing up on the list of files. Is this a glitch in the game? Thanks!
I like that I can just copy & paste
Not a glitch, the files are split into 4 acts that you can see with the "list" command (list 1, list 2, etc.). Someone mentioned in the comments though that you can see all the files you've unlocked at once with the command find then press enter twice. IMO this layout is way better and much easier to navigate, but I'm sure the creator has their own reasons for the way they designed this part of the game.
The name command just allows you to display the names you find next to the numbers you think the names match with. To use it you just type name (#) (name), filling in the number you're naming, and the name you're assigning them. After filling all the names in, I only needed to use it a few more times to add surnames or correct my naming mistakes.
(0) 00-readme
(1) 01-QU-1-11
(1) 02-EN-1-6-7-10
(3) 03-LI-1-4-5-6-7-8-9
I've spent quite a bit of time on this, have become quite intrigued by the story and the logical progression of game play, and I have a feeling I've only scratched the surface! While I may never actually finish, thumbs up to the author for something "different".
Thank you!
do you happen to know what the fourth file is? i got file 'readme' file 'invitation' file and 01, 02, and 03 files
Fun deduction challenge. I think the most interesting part was tracking characters from scene to scene- trying to figure out where some of them were during meaningless times was surprisingly difficult!
Love this game! I got a bit stuck in Act 2 but then I made a list of all the possible locations and just started trying to find the Act 1 scenes I was missing and that jump-started me.
I'm stuck on these files, and IDK how to progress.
This is really fun. Reminds me of Lucas Pope's Return of the Obra Dinn

What a fun game! Took me two days to find all the files (97). Comments helped quite a bit
00-readme has a scene number in it. Paste that into the box and you will read the scene.
The end of scene 03-LI-1-4-5-6-7-8-9 indicates that certain characters will be going to different locations next, two different locations in fact. How do the bolded location names relate to the numbering scheme of the scenes?
I have 98 files, you may be missing one of the hidden ones
Here are the names I figured out thus far: 1=John, 5=Martha, 6=Eddie, 7=Vic, and 8=Damian.
Found the last one! I was missing the file that reveals the agent's name.
Which one reveals the name? Rot13: V sbhaq gur qernz svyr ohg qba'g frr n anzr whfg ahzoref.

A truly excellent game! My 5 pages of hand scribbled notes, show how much thought was put into the story, mystery, and puzzles. Would love to play more games like this. Thanks for featuring it!
Thank you!

And that's not what I was asking.
This is wonderful. Definitely getting HerStory vibes. I like the difficulty, the only thing I'd like to change is to have a clear "You're done" screen, because it's not obvious. Hope this guy makes more stuff in the future!
Also reminded me of The Roottrees are Dead!
Really hope there is a follow-up to this that explains how the curse came to be.
Here's the complete list of characters with full names if anyone needs it (rot13):

Other tips for the game:
1) There are four acts, so if you find scenes but don't see them when you type "list", try typing "list 2" "list 3" and "list 4"
2) Each file name is formatted as ##-AA-numbers. The initial ## represents the scene, the letters represent the location the scene is taking place and the numbers represent the characters in that scene. Each ## scene will have every character in it somewhere (unless they are dead).
3) Finding the scenes get much easier as you go further in the game. And if you figure out the "pattern" in the story, this also makes it easier.
4) Be sure to check the inbox after finding all the files because you will have another message there.
5) There is no "the end" message. You are done when you find all 98 files. And bonus if you guess the agent's name.
6) The hangman game can be played by typing "hangman" and then the letter of your choice. This game is unsolvable.
I'd add that for anyone who doesn't like the acts structure, typing "find " makes all of them show up.
Unlocked 38 files thanks to that V-Tuber, though V-Tube isn't my thing. I'm not too big on Japanese anime.
Took me about 5 days to finish this game. I had to bring out a notepad to keep track of all the details. Very cleverly designed deduction puzzle game, my favorite of the year so far!
Yes, that's the end. That's my bad, idk if you edited your comment or something, because I have no idea how my original answer was related now lol, but if you're interested here's the explanation I gathered after finding all 98 files

There IS a "The End" screen! I found all the scenes and got the final note. Then went and tried hangman. lost over and over. Came back to the game today and it loaded my auto save and took me to a "The End" screen.

Seems like a few updates were made to the game, including the addition of an ending.
Just finished with all 98 notes -- definitely had to cheat for those last ones, not sure how you're supposed to get those organically. Some trial and error in the beginning, and I definitely had to take a ton of notes throughout. I really enjoyed this, though! The story is really cool and looking back at it with new context is really fascinating. Great find
Every character appears somewhere in each scene, so I would go back and see which ones are missing to help you. Add in a bit of guesswork for the location and you should have a good starting point!
