the unknown
The unknown is the latest escape game by Gotmail. Can you escape the room?
The walkthrough didn't help since the first area I needed was totally black in my screen. But after reloading it several times it finally completely loaded.
Ah I see well if it loaded like mine it took over two darn minutes and I got very frustrated and after getting it loaded and seeing what the game was about I wasted my time.
Personally, I don't think two minutes is all that long at all and I like a challenge. It's been a while since I've played a gotmail game. Thanks Bart :)
darn. took about 5 mins to load and just as it got to 90% my internet crashed. oh well back to loading and loading...... is the game really as bad as everyone says it is?
i don't understand why you put the marbles where they go in the 4-holed tray. according to the drawing, wouldn't they be in a different order?? this game is ridiculous. kind of frustrating game. XP
I did well until it came to placing the marbles. From there on it took the walkthrough to make it. Not bad up to that point, but very awkward from there to the end. Nearly impossible from a logic standpoint.
I think I figured out the logic of almost everything (after watching the video walkthrough), so I'll post some hints that might have helped me solve the game without the walkthrough.
Make sure you click beside above and below all pieces of furniture (obvious I know, but I still missed 2 places).
When you get an object make sure you zoom in on it (double click it in the items pane), and then keep clicking in various places to try to turn it over in case there's something on the back of it.
When you hear something unlock, you sometimes have to click back out of the frame (or set of frames) and then click forward again to see what unlocked.
The "4" symbol with the bird, tiger, tortoise and dragon does not provide the order for the jewels. Googling bird tiger tortoise and dragon, however, is rather useful. You're looking for how they symbols correspond to the seasons.
The "four"/"path"/"linkage"/whatever on the beads is still obscure. The darkness appears to possibly be a yin/yang reference--somewhat obscure. The rest was logical--one difficulty finding a place with an important clue. Tough, but overall outstubborned it.
Another hint: you can't use any of the passwords before you found all the hints to it (I deducted one from the first hint in the hidden room, but couldn't use the password until I found the second hint).
Pretty game ! But illogical from the start to the end, like any other escape game although. I had as a matter of fact to glance at the walkthrough for each step ; do the designers of such games ever think to the gamers ? Are they so psychotic that they cannot create anything that speak a real story to others ? Well, I wonder... and I also wonder why I keep playing those unsensible games (well, actually, less and less, time passing by. ;)
If you are you looking for a solution or a walkthrough for one of the game links, please have a look in the comments.

There's an English selection - Yay!
Well done Cindy!
Made it, but found it a bit unlogical (maybe due to translation errors; btw "blue dragon" is actually "green dragon").
Some hints made no sense to me, thus I only could solve them by "brute force" (i.e. the cupboard combination and the order of the balls).
Out! Leaned heavily on walkthrough on youtube. Couldn't have made it otherwise. Too complicated/twisted.
Had a very difficult time with this one but enjoyed it all the same. Thanks for sharing it with us, Bart!
It took almost 2 minutes to load, no logic as said above, and it sucks. Nuff said!
VIDEO WALKTHROUGH:

I can't seem to click on anything at all. I can see three angles of the room, but the fourth is black and I can't get closer to anything. bummer
Jen I'd suggest using the walkthrough above your comment.

It was an OK puzzle.
Thanks, Bart
i love your games... please make more escape games
Ugh. Didn't care for this one. Even with the walkthrough, I couldn't understand the solutions to the puzzles. What the heck??
Marbles!!?? What marbles???

Good puzzle. Yes, it was initially slow to load but I found all the puzzles very fair (except maybe 'light').
Some (more) gentle hints for those getting stuck.
The "4" symbol is a compass pointing right, and the animals are from Chinese mythology.
The box: you just have to find that formula. It's not far.
The cabinet: cherry, apple, fruit...code...
Light: think yin & yang, opposites.
Sword clue, blood: useless, but the sword is key...
Definitely one of the better ones for me, but maybe I'm more persistent.

*however, and not "although", and *think about instead of "think to", and probably some other mistakes -- sorry, I'm French.
