sequester
Enter the mind of a nameless young boy as he dreams of his sister, who is deceased and stuck between this life and the next in sequester, the latest platformer by Antony Lavelle.
I'm not sure who came up with this game mechanic first but it was also used in the oddly named game "Vanessa Saint-Pierre Delacroix and Her Nightmare".
It's an odd game mechanic, I've now finished every level and it never really felt like I understood the trickier levels. Sometimes I half guessed at the way to go but mostly it was trial and error.
The imagery is great and the atmosphere fantastic, but I had to stop playing because the character's responses to my keys are too frustrating - like it's at the same time underwater and in low gravity. Maybe it's my very slow computer playing tricks on me. Sad though, it looks really promising :(
Took me some time to finish this game, but loved every minute of it. Sad story, but beautifull at the same time. Challenging levels. Really enjoyed it. :)
Oooh, nice!
ReplyDeleteWoah impressive production values.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bart.
Very odd indeed.. Thxs

oh my god this is very sad
ReplyDeleteI feel I could spend the rest of my life trying to finish Level 3-3.
ReplyDeleteI can't beat the level with the 4 bars in front of the door. Is there a walkthrough anywhere that might be able to help?

ReplyDeletefirst!
ReplyDeletewow, never done first before..... anyway, liked it but the controls were kinda slippery for me.
thnx bart!
teehee!
ReplyDeleteI really liked this, but on my fancy computer the controls were sluggish. Very sad but lovely game.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this but, apparently, not enough to spend another 20 minutes trying to get past level 3-3. Thanks for this one anyway, Bart!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind hard levels, but getting stuck at a dead end where you cannot jump out of seems like sloppy design to me.
ReplyDeleteI can't get level 3-3. HELP!
ReplyDeleteI give up. I need a video walkthrough to beat this game.
ReplyDeleteThere's a full walkthrough up on Youtube now. I still don't know if I can finish the game though.
ReplyDeleteI'm still playing. I really liked it so far, aside from one thing: Being chased by those things totally ruins the atmospere.. :(
ReplyDeleteWoah.. That was creepy. And great. I especially loved the spoken text, and the music was good, too. Great atmosphere!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad there was a way to skip the levels... The story was sad, but this game style was pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteReally enjoyed this - loved that you could see through one side of the cube to manipulate the others. Like a rubik's platformer.

ReplyDeleteI love this game so much, I replayed it two more times after finishing just for the plot and story aspect of it <3
ReplyDeleteTakes a little too long to load, but otherwise, great game! A little dark, though.
