super sub hero
Guide a little eskimo boy through a series of puzzles on a quest to save his grandpa in the puzzle platformer super sub hero by Ticklebot.
OK, on level 7 I managed to get to the flag by firing, then dropping through the first switch while the arrow was in mid-air. But I still can't figure out how to get the star and still be able to reach the flag since I can't jump over the second switch.
I got frustrated after level 2-2. If you don't make your jumps with absolute precision down to the pixel you slide off the ice and die, and if you can't perform the steps fast enough you also die. It becomes more about physical dexterity than mentally figuring out how to solve the puzzle.
I managed to solve level 7 with the star. I fired arrows while dropping through the first switch, so that the top water block became snow and was destroyed by the arrows I had already fired. Then I walked over the second switch, so there were no water blocks at that point. Then I climbed up, shot the block at the top of the pit, dropped down, and got the star. Then I carved an alternating left/right ladder and hopped up to the flag.

The game starts to become more about precision than any puzzle solving skills seeing as I get stuck on an easy level for aaaages just because the jumps need to be absolutely accurate and yeah, love the idea of it, but I'm just gonna give this up.
If you think precision is the only way, then you probably haven't found the trick. I haven't managed to get the timing quite right on 2-3 yet, but the others are not so hard, provided you have the right solution!
Currently up to 2-7 and nothing impossible so far.
Great game so far, but I seem to have found a bug in Level 1-10. After I throw the switch in the left-hand corner and drop back down to the ground, the level automatically resets on me. Aarrgh!
First!
ReplyDeleteThis gets insanely hard at about the 5th level. Wow.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it every game I play I get stuck on level 7? I can't manage to jump over the second ice/water switch.

ReplyDeleteI too got frustrated with the accuracy required.. not enough fun..
ReplyDeleteIf you click on the ? it takes you to a walkthru..
@Tom: you're my hero!
ReplyDeleteNevetheless I give up: as Anonymous said, too much precision and velocity are required, and it's not even the Olympic games...
I enjoyed level 1-1 and 1-2 ;)
I made it as far as level 2-7, and then there are just too many ways in which the slightest misstep kills you. No more fun of any kind.
