captain robert

Explore a derelict, seemingly abandoned ship and see if you can figure out the fate of the crew and if it's not too late to avoid a similar fate in the minimalist platformer Captain Robert made in 48 hours for the Ludum Dare 27 game jam.

  2. Here is some information about the game: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2013/08/26/post-mortem-captain-robert/

I hope he does add to this game; it was quite interesting.

  3. Can't get anywhere after the first fall. Quite frustrating.

  4. @anonymous: you can open the white doors with the x key

  5. Thanks Bart, I needed that tip !

  6. Wow, very good.

Exciting story with fine minimalist game details. Yes, an extension would be great.

  7. There was one point white point that I couldn't figure out how to get to. It was outside above the garden area.

  8. yes! I want to reach that white point too!
    but how?

  9. I found two places where you can go out into the black space using the C key, but I had trouble navigating out there.

  10. Not bad for a quickie. Could do with more work. Back story text is just annoying.

There are at least 3 EVA points, but only top right into the garden seems to do anything, and you get there later with the right card. The others are just cute graffiti.

All white blobs are accessible with the right keycard. The X key is overworked, and when you get to pick something up it's not immediately obvious.

Basically, find all the keycards and then exit. Escape pod never works, that I know of.

  11. Creepy ending. I had goosebumps as i made my way to the storage room. Incredible story for 48 hours.

  12. Is there a way to "escape" ? Twice I followed the storyline and went to the storage room and then back to beginning screen. Does somebody manage to do something else ?

  13. @ anon 14:59 and tam

I finally made it to the white point outside the ship. You have to exit the ship on floor level 0. Go to the escape pod, then go left to a bigger area on the same level. You don't have to go up or down any steps. You do need the gravity reverser thing.

  14. @Marlea:
    Thank you!
Unfortunately I cannot follow your intructions because (after a long break...) I appear to be lost and cannot find my way back into the ship :(

  15. *instructions
(not intructions, of course... my break was too long :)

  16. What did that white point say?(I already finished the game and don't want to start a new one...)

  17. Wonderful game! Really kept the atmosphere going!

  18. Is the end just opening the storage room?

  19. Creepy, fun game. I REALLY want to know how it ends. An extended version would be awesome. Also I think I missed Butler's first log and I'm too lazy to go back and find it.

  20. the game's "window" - the playable area - is clipped on the bottom and right, which I've seen on another game or two to which I've linked through bontegames. I found an "unclipped" version at the newgrounds portal. Worth looking into, this wee glitch?
Thanks as always, for posting the game.

  21. I don't see a clipping problem, but can you perhaps send me a screenshot of yours?

  22. Cool idea for a story, however it's awfully similar to a few episodes of Doctor Who.....

  23. once you get to the white point above the green room it gives you the ability to move freely around the map as you like
