cratopia
Push and climb crates to make your way to the exit in the rather hard puzzlescript puzzler cratopia by CHz. I spent far too much time trying to solve level 2, but believe me it is possible.
This is my third PuzzleScript game, including "It Dies in the Light" and "Heroes of Sokoban," and enjoyed all of 'em, especially part ii of Heroes. Amazed at how much puzzle goodness can be packed into such a (seemingly) simple game engine. Only wish they'd include level numbers. Also, please make "continue" the default when you return. I lost all my progress in "Heroes ii" when I came back by accidentally hitting Return and starting a new game. I liked "Light" but never quite got the game mechanics. But definitely would welcome more of all three ("Lights" is especially short), please.
Stuck on the level where you start on the top level and there's a hot spot that burns crates on the lower level. It seems the only place where any can be dropped and crates are needed to climb back up...? Totally flummoxed!!
These are ingenious and novel puzzles, but I really dislike the crude game engine. No level numbers, no save, crude clunky graphics, lots of key bounce. Surely we can do better.
I got down about 10 levels and had to leave. Now I really don't feel like solving all those levels again just to get back to where I was.
I wo&X75;l&X64; li&X6b;e to thаnk yοu for thе effοrts уou haνe ρut in psnning this site. I am hopin&X67; to check out the same hig&X68;-grade co&X6e;tent f&X72;om you іn the &X66;utu&X72;e as well. In truth, y&X6F;ur creati&X76;e writing &X61;bilities has motivated me tο get mу own, pers&X6F;nal site now ;)
SPOILER FOR LEVEL 2!!!!!!! Drop off crate to the left and push it right. then climb ladder and push both crates into a stack. Drop on top of crates and then step off to left. Push bottom crate off, then push remaining crate one place left. Drop Right and push crate to left. Climb again and push crate off. Move left and you're on the ladder. Push left block off and into hole. Climb ladder til you're level with the remaining crate and push it off. Drop down and push it all the way left... HOME! Now can anyone help ME??
I'm also stuck where Jane F is (or, hopefully, was...):

Never mind: the good old magic of posting worked for me!
Before going down from the smaller ladder directly on the "burning" spot, I dropped a crate on my head.
Then I pushed the crate on the right to the right, where I needed it in order to climb back up the bigger ladder (after having reached the cat and opened the door, of course).
Thanks for the tip tam! Managed to follow your instructions and finished that level. Now stuck with the disappearing bridge... BTW I love the fact that you see the "key" as a cat!! lol
I finally finished the game! When I finally figured out the one with the ladder on each side, I was worried what was next! Just the ending screen, thankfully.
This is my favorite of the puzzle script games so far.
Still stuck at the disappearing bridge (the one with 3 burn spots in the middle and one non burn spot at either end - and half a ladder floating in the air...)
I had the same problem, but finally figured it out, the level with the bridge and the 3 burning spots in the middle. Can't recall it exactly, but in the end after you open the door, you let all the blocks disappear by dropping a few of them on his head, so that they touch other blocks and make them disappear.
I will try to be more precise. After opening the door: the last 2 parts of the bridge should be free, remove the bridge there, do NOT drop a block on the last part. Go stand on the last burning place, drop some blocks on your head (al least more than one, I don't remember how many), then step aside, to the right. All blocks disappear. The rest is easy. At least this is how I remember it. Hope it helps!
@Jade: Thank you! I finally managed to overcome the previous level and, thanks to your hint, I passed quite easily the "bridge and 3 burning spots" level. Then (finally) a level that I mastered quickly. Now I'm at the last level and it seems like I'm going to spend some time here... :P
@Emily Namm: I think there is help on level 2 in the previous comments. Try Jane F on 27 October 2013 00:34

ReplyDelete.....but great game Bart!!! x
ReplyDeleteHow do you control whether you climb on the crate or push the crate?
ReplyDeleteyou always push a single crate...to climb on it must be against a wall or against another crate... :-/
ReplyDeleteOh, ok. Thanks!
ReplyDeletethanks for the post bart, am stuck on the level where the ladders are on the right and left

ReplyDeleteehm... so, it's a key then... :P
I guess a key makes more sense for everybody but me, since I live with more cats than keys :)

I'm STILL stuck with the disappearing bridge... HELP! lol
ReplyDeleteI am also stuck at a fragile bridge over fire. I can't seem to burn down the blocks after climbing to the key.
ReplyDeleteI'm stuck on the level after, with the disappearing bridge, with the ledge above it, all over two fires. any help anyone?
