Escaping in progress....
Aaaaaand .... FIRST =P
And done ... YES .. easy one but the Mr. Hippo's puzzle took me a little time to solve.
Thanks Bart for sharing..
third!
Happy Coin brought happyness to me :-))
Thanks for sharing!
The Tesshi-E games are the only games where I replay to get the non-special ending after I've found the special one - just so I can see what wonderful food/items there are for the "basic" ending too.
Love this game series. Thanks for continuing to share it with us, Bart! :)
I got out with the help of a walkthrough for the Mr Hippo puzzle. Can someone explain how the answer is derived from the clue? I can't see it. Thanks!
Another excellent addition by Tesshi. The hippo had me for a moment, I had wanted to connect him to the animals not the secret window message. A good little puzzle. Thanks Bart!
@Confused by Hippo: You need to count the right angles (ninezero "degree" as clued by the Hippo box) on the images on the small window to get the numbers for the sequence. In the first image, for example, there are 2 right angles, so the first slot in the sequence is 2.
Does that help it make more sense?

That makes total sense, thank you! I kept trying to turn the image or part of the image 90 degrees to "see" the numbers.
Weird, I can open it, click the buttons in the right order (verified in a walkthrough) and nothing happens.
Clearly this is another one of those games where you have to have solved one of the author's previous games in order to make sense of it.
Too difficult for me (luckily I know where to find good walkthroughs!)
:P
The clue with the dolls is incorrect, isn't it? The number sequence that shows on the dolls is not the one that actually works. I found the one that works on a walkthrough.
Can anyone explain this to me?
The doll sequence in my game was accurate for the solution - though several of the boxes in this game required you to click on the drawer once the sequence was entered in order to "open" it. It also allowed you to continue clicking buttons, even though it was already unlocked, without causing it to re-lock. Fairly confusing, not very intuitive and not a common issue with the Tesshi-E games. Not sure why he made it that way this time.
@NotMarian: the dolls give the order in which each of the five buttons should be clicked. So, e.g. four rings means the corresponding button should be clicked as fourth in the sequence (and it does NOT mean clicking the fourth button!). Maybe this helps?
Triple item & double code = Happy.
It's amazing how smoothly things go when you have everything but one missing tool.
