minnano hoshi saga 2
The hunt for stars continues, Yoshio Ishii made another episode of his star hunting puzzler: minnano hoshi saga 2. Once more the levels were contributed by fellow Japanase game designers.
26: Use the two levers you can turn to spin the gears to cut a star shape into the yellow disk. Pretty cool!
27: Pick one of the two shapes from each pair in order, going clockwise. You'll want to get bonus (having picked an odd number of each shape) as much as possible. Star appears when you get just over 3000 points.
28: Haven't solved it, but I can draw on the background, and on the five slips of purple paper that can be moved with the tabs - each of which has 1/5th the angles needed for a star...
30: Wipe window with cloth, drag blue bucket away while cloth is out, push button.
For 28, color in the whole screen (by holding down your mouse), or at least everything between the papers. Then drag the papers away, and a star will be left over.
Like these games, only problem I have is that you can't use any of the hints or anything because they are only in Japanese. This is hard enough as it is, being handicapped by language kind of takes away from it. He obviously knows some english, the menu buttons are in English.
Hmmm, for #26 only one of the handles functions; the upper handle just makes a "clicking" sound and it looks as though there is a handle in the very lower right that is cut off on the screen.
I have managed to complete the others (with the exception of #22 - it hate timing challenges).
Now I'm stuck on #35 - are the question mark boxes supposed to do something?
Figured out #26, wasn't lining things up properly. Skipped #22 and realized I had to pixel hunt on #35. Thanks to some very, very rudimentary Japanese, managed to get through #38 (I'd skip that one if I had to do it over).
Managed to complete the game. This had to be one of the toughest Hoshi Saga's so far, mostly due to a lack of translation.
I still enjoyed it though. Thanks for sharing this one, Bart!
Here is a hint for level 22: You don't actually have to beat the 'level', or jump at all. Another hint... Click the screen, drag down, eventually you will pull down the side menu to the bottom to reveal a star.
Any level I choose I'm stuck at the screen with the two girls. Very frustrating...
ReplyDeleteThe screen with the two girls is the loading screen of the levels. You should wait untill the level has loaded.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your answer Bart but the game has been stuck on that screen for several minutes now...
ReplyDeleteIt's weird. I'm using Chrome and I just tested the previous Hoshi Saga which works correctly...
ReplyDeleteYes it's weird. It's working fine for me with Chrome.
ReplyDeleteI cannot seem to do or figure out #22, #26, #27, #28 or #30. I really wish the info/hint was available in English. :(

Bart, now I think I know why you wanted translation.
ReplyDeleteFor 28, color in the whole screen (by holding down your mouse), or at least everything between the papers. Then drag the papers away, and a star will be left over.
ReplyDeleteAnyone get 32, 36, or 38?
Can you do please a picture.
ReplyDeleteI have it :-D thank you so much
ReplyDeleteHint for #36: Select the night sky background. Play with the 'settings'.
ReplyDeleteUgh. I wish this game was in English!

ReplyDeleteGood stuff!!

@-k:
ReplyDeletenr 35 is just a pixel hunt around the world!
#26 is not working for me either :(
ReplyDeleteI don't understand #14: any hint for me, please?

Always remember to not take the toilet paper.
ReplyDeleteYaY! BEEN WAITING!
ReplyDeleteStuck on 14!
ReplyDeleteFinally won level 40, that collecting was hard, as you could accidentally press a person and end up with a pink screen. HARDEST HOSHISAGA YET!
ReplyDeleteI give up.
ReplyDeleteEver get that uneasy feeling that you're can't finish a puzzle? I have that feeling....
ReplyDeleteI finished it thanks to my exceptional skills - and some video walkthroughs:

I am especially proud to have completed level 14 using my brain (at its limits, probably...)
:)
how do you do the one with the monkey and the labels on the tree. Threw a bomb into a chimney. very confusing.
ReplyDeleteSpoiler:
ReplyDeleteThere are numbers on the labels.
Nice, but challenging after the first 10.

Lvl 25 is really quite difficult with a laptop mousepad...
