crayon poke

Collect skulls and use the power of crayon to venture your way up toward new beginnings in the platformer crayon poke by Ryan Carag and Potato-tan created for the 'an unconventional weapon' themed Ludum Dare 32 game jam. Controls: arrows to move, S to jump, D to throw (when you have the crayon power).

  1. Not a big fan of the S & D controls and managed to make it to a level where I do not have enough crayons to make it to the next platform (at least, not without trying to do it over and over and over for the next twenty minutes growing ever more frustrated in the process). I enjoyed what I had done, but have little to no interest in going further. Not terrible for a Jam game, but definitely not on my replay list.

a challenge is a good thing,
but performing feats of near impossibilty makes for frustration rather than fun :(

  3. how do you get past the pig where there are 2 buttons?

  4. You should make the pig run over one button while you run over the other button.

  5. I can't get there fast enough, he keeps following me!

  7. Can this pig be killed? Can it be killed by jumping on it? I can bounce on it!!! UP AND DOWN AND UP AND DOWN AND UP AND DOWN JUST FOR FUN!

  8. No, you can only jump on it, and jump on it, and jump on it, and jump on it...

  9. ArrĂȘte les betises, Bart!

Shouldn't you be checking out one certain "gray" game?

  10. I didn't have any difficulty with this game at all, I thought it was wonderful. In fact I believe there must be a secret ending as there were places I knew I could get to, but beat the game before going there.

  11. Fun game! It was challenging without being impossible. (Though that one "fall, shoot, then double-jump" move was tricky!)

I wouldn't change a thing except to make it longer. :)

  12. I really enjoyed this, normally it's me who gets stuck but for once I didn't which makes a nice change! A good length of game too for something made in such a short space of time! Top marks from me :)

  15. In the "fall, shoot, double jump" part with the spikes, I can't seem to be able to double jump after falling. I tried on an area with no spikes and double jumping after a fall just doesn't work. help, anyone?

  17. I did a drop,shoot & jump onto the crayon.
Followed by several in a row which I double jumped onto, while saving 1 shot.
I don't mind the game play, but when I go through a portal I expect it to take me to the same place each time.
