The age isn't loading. I looked for ifcomp with google, tried to load the page from there. www.ifcomp.org is not available. Sorry Bart, but they surely have a problem there.
It took me a couple tries to get it to load, but the second time worked. It's surprisingly long. I made it to the end game (where it says you've won but can continue to play around, and the box becomes a large box). I found a few more things after that, then stopped.
Aaaaagh! The stupid evening at home is too long! I just got him to go to bed, and it said the grandfather clock door was open, so then I turned on the light to see what was in it, and he came back! I must have restarted it and now I have to do the whole thing again!!!!! AAAAGH I give up.
I'm stuck with the man reading the newspaper. I can change the lights in the room and it's always a quarter past ten but other than that nothing seems to be doing anything. Hint please?
The part with the lights and the mechanical man with the newspaper was the first part that took me a little while to get through. You have to pay close attention to the clues, and you have to wait for things to happen (you can use z I think, or just keep doing "x window" to make it step forward in time.
SPOILER i'm working on the grandma portrait. using the hair and the pendant, all i can do is circle through three states: emerald - gray ruby - black diamond - white how do i break the circle to get to diamond - gray? /SPOILER
Best game I've played in a while. Took me a bit to get everything, but it was super fun.
After you "win", takes you to a fresh page, and says you can keep playing, be sure to play with the buttons and the window, and then the flag and the portrait. :) (oh and the display has lots to say, too)
If you are you looking for a solution or a walkthrough for one of the game links, please have a look in the comments.

No load.
Tried it. Loaded fine. Was fun for a while then I got bored.
That is a long game. Now there is an egg...
I won, there is a chest at the end.
And a fanfare - don't forget the fanfare...

So glad to see I'm not the only one having problems with the evening at home, this is frustrating.
ok, got the door of the clock open. And it seems I'm stuck again. Nevertheless, I'm enjoying it, and have always especially liked text-based games.

I am reminded of a maze of twisty passages... all alike...
Got SO excited to see that it's an Interactive Fiction game. I'm terrible at these, but I love them.
Upon playing for 5 minutes, I see it's more straightforward than many other IF games I've played. Don't know if that will make it easier or not.
Got it! I thought you were supposed to do something inside the clock, but turning on the light at just the right moment reveals an unexpected visitor.
Finished! I love the mechanical man!
i need help!
SPOILER
i'm working on the grandma portrait. using the hair and the pendant, all i can do is circle through three states:
emerald - gray
ruby - black
diamond - white
how do i break the circle to get to diamond - gray?
/SPOILER
The lady's hair can either be white, black, or gray. Where else have we seen those colors?
Bah, lost interest after display showed Llama.
I finished it!
Is there anything interesting to be done that I shouldn't miss?
Ah! Thx Emily! :) I'll try this later
Made it through! :D Just the right amount of challenge (and FUN), I'd say!
I really like these text adventures. The ending was cute to say the least, and the interactions sometimes really put me on edge. Worth it to the end.
i dont understand
i dont understand
im stuck, the box has a crank and there is nothing else i can do
oh my this is like that candy box game you shared with us last time, no?
ok, needed the hint on the mechanical man, but after that things went well... randomly trying everything some of the time :)
stuck at the cylinder thing i need help
Can't click on anything. Annoying.
Bart, This has to be a contender for your top 10 of 2015. Awesome game.
