Thanks for the link to the game!
that was fun. was there anything special about furball mode besides the skinning? Seems like the #1 guy was faster also, maybe?
yeah, he was. Cute game
Am I the only one who can't use 3 or 4?
3 goes flat, 4 is a balloon pop
Twitch games. Why am I finding so many twitch games?
Love it! However, when I entereed the first blue door, I figured the exit would just lead me to the end of the mini-level. Instead, it ended the game, which really doesn't make sense. Good thing I could continue with the items I had already collected intact. Aside from that, lovely graphics, lovely music, lovely idea. Thanks for sharing! :)
Yeah I agree with Jana. That door should be locked or something until you have a minimum number of items.
Great game! I love playing Ludum games... but I don't like sorting through all those games on the site. Thanks for doing it for me, Bart!
My first time through, I went through the big blue door w/o investigating any of the nooks and crannies of the hub, didn't even experiment with any of my forms until after that, and got to the end with about five weird floating heart fruit things. I just started an entirely new game after that. I got 51/55, and don't feel like trying to find the last 4; the world is too big. The main improvement I think this game needs is that when you get a floaty fruit and then die in the same room, you don't lose it; so if I use Balloon Boy to get the one above the spikes in the blue exit world and then immediately fall on the spikes, I reappear at the entrance to the room, but I don't need to go back for the fruit. I ought to have to go back; that way I actually learn that I need to use Blobby.
I named them, in the order they appear, Blobby, Bobby, Bloopy, and Balloon Boy.
Can anyone help me? I first played the game yesterday, and saw a display featuring how to change shape. I seem to remember using the number keys 1 through 4 to be able to do it.
Today I came back to play more, and there is no display, and I cannot change shape, nor does pressing numbers (or any other key I try) change my shape.
Help! How can I change shape again?
Thanks in advance -- from Anonymous C
OK, now for some reason after playing awhile, I have earned shape number 2, and can go back and forth between those two shapes. I suppose I will eventually earn 3 and 4 as well. So why/how did I start with all 4 yesterday? -- Anonymous C
Anonymous C back again. Having earned all 4 shapes, I found the secret shining door, but did not enter as I wanted to collect more hearts. I earned 50/55 hearts, but now can't find the secret door again. I thought it somewhere inside the blue/green door level, but can't find it. Can I get any help on this? Thanks again.
Never mind -- found it after restarting the game -- thanks anyway! -- Anonymous C
Ok, if this game doesn't win, or at the very least place very highly, I will be very surprised. The game plays wonderfully, it looks nice, the music is great, fits the theme perfectly, and after beating it, you get a speed run mode option pretty much. Literally, the only thing I didn't like about the game was the final door the floor and background were similar color, so it felt more cluttered than it really was.
If you get all the 55 crystals, you unlock furball mode, and you can play the game again with a white cat and all the shapes already unlocked.
I got 54 and have no clue which one I missed. Ugh. :/
I thought the furball might be a little faster.
No idea why they thought it was worth the effort.
the furball is a lot faster than the normal mode.
To clear up the confusion of the Anonymouses above about shape changing, it appears that the makers of the game have updated it (since I first played it) so that you have to unlock a new shape to use it, finding one in each mini-world, and cannot get to the exit door (or get all the flying fruity things) until you have all of them. In my opinion, this makes the game much better and more structured, because you actually have to explore all the areas, and in a certain order; then you can revisit them to get flying fruit things. It's too bad that this update probably isn't in the version submitted to Ludum; it would have made it place higher.
Also, I did get all the flying fruit things in the end, and I think it was worth it just for the sense of achievement; I didn't even know about the furball thing, and found it a pleasant surprise.
@Nat R. I agree that they have upgraded, but I found that you can get the flying fruit things before you get the shapes.
Fun game- love adventure stuff and the music was nice!
53/55... so close!
Hi there! DDRKirby(ISQ) here.
Sorry for all the confusion! At one point there was a buggy version of the game posted where all of the abilities were unlocked at the very beginning, which kind of defeats the entire purpose =( I fixed that, so the intended and correct behavior is that you start with no abilities, and find them throughout the world, just like any other Metroidvania game.
The original version submitted to LD did NOT have this issue, but I made a patch update where I introduced this bug (d'oh). I didn't fix it until a few days later, unfortunately.
