gear kitty
Gear kitty, a puzzle platformer by Ryan Carag created for the 'ancient technology' themed Ludum Dare 36 game jam.
Cute game. A little jumping/re-spawning glitch at one point but was very playable. While it lacked a little originality, it was very impressive for a LD game.
I enjoyed it, but died a couple more times than necessary because I hadn't realised that the red things were jump upgrades. :P I figured it out though. I also appreciate the fact that checkpoints are close together and can be activated more than once. :P
Very playable and fairly well made for a Raiyumi game, but much shorter and easier than most of his games. Since this is the Ludum version, I wonder if we will see an expanded, more difficult, and slightly less glitchy version at some point in the future?
I didn't have the issues with touchy jumping that others seem to have had. For me it was mostly very smooth. I love this sort of game, where you have to unlock upgrades in order to progress to different parts of the map. Far too short for my liking, I'd love to see it expanded.

ReplyDeleteToo short :(
ReplyDeleteWay, way, waaaay too finicky about exact jumping. Lost interest with the first set of gears to the left.
ReplyDeleteThat was a fun little game! It nicely fit the theme and was impressively "playable" for an LD Game. Thanks for sharing with us, Bart!
ReplyDeleteenjoyable game but this is it? way too short... I just love that kind of game
ReplyDeleteTotally not for me. Gave up after I got the second red pill or whatever it is.
ReplyDeleteJumping is reaaaalllly touchy. Takes away most of the fun.
ReplyDeleteEasy and cute, and short. 6.5/10
ReplyDeleteI really wish someone had told me that it was possible to save at checkpoints.... I used a few more attempts than necessary..
ReplyDeleteI give up! i cannot amke the first jump to the right. left is all fine and easy.
ReplyDeleteYou have to go left first to collect a double jump, only then will you be able to explore the part on the right, cheers!

Did not work at all. No double jump although I found the item on the left. Gave it three tries with site reloads. No matter. Poor.
ReplyDeleteFlash Update didn't help.
