anachroma
Explore an enigmatic world devoid of color in the puzzle platformer anachroma by Zillix for Ludum Dare.
I got the confirmation code by accident. I bounced around and inside the red dot for a bit.
I really liked this game. It's rare to see a new play dynamic like this and always exciting when it happens. It takes a lot of thought in the design to make it playable in all three modes. Well done.
don't play if you get motion sickness/dizzy easily. Found the world tilt mechanism early on in the game and got nauseated quite quickly after that and couldn't continue. Too bad :(
I liked it, despite the constant tipping and spinning that made it impossible not to get lost. What they should have done is created a mini-world for each of the octagons at the end, that you accessed by entering it.
The ending would be a bit more satisfying if it was more than a "thanks for playing" and just standing there - music fading out, a fade to black, or white, or something ...
Ah! But if you do run around inside the final red octagon (near the blue, green, and white ones), your depature is confirmed, and it pulls back to show a bit more of the structure, which you can rotate briefly before it does fade to black ... ! -- Anonymous C
Try to open in Opera: "You need a browser which supports WebGL to run this content. Try installing Firefox." Try to open in Firefox: "You need a browser which supports WebGL to run this content. Try installing Firefox." Hm.
I tried playing this game in edge and received some interesting results. The run and jump controls lag, and as a result I can glitch through the walls and easily clip out of bounds. Glitching around was a better alternative to trying to hop on the first platforms in the beginning. It sounds more like a problem with edge more than anything else.
What a nice little game, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteTook me a while to understand how to finish the game. Patience and reading the text was never my strength :D
Doesn't load in chrome.
ReplyDeleteMine loaded in chrome. Try putting it full screen.
ReplyDeleteThat was interesting. A bit disorienting, but not too bad.
ReplyDeleteSo, well, finally I finished it - I liked it, ... but I'm still a bit confused.
ReplyDeleteheh. that was crazy
ReplyDeletecan someone please explain how to finish it? I got all the stars and triangles but don't know what the confirmation for the chromoctogon departure is

I was exploring the outside edge of the ship and got trapped in the Observatory.
ReplyDeleteIt took me a long time to figure out I had to go inside a color to finish.
ReplyDeleteNever managed to get to the probe outside of the brig either.

ReplyDeleteI really liked this game. A bit more of an unusual platformer.
ReplyDeleteI think I got to all of the bits and I can only assume from the animation at the end that I successfully enabled the chrono-thingy.

ReplyDeleteDoesn't work in my browser (Firefox). I get the Unity logo and what looks like a full progress bar but it never moves nor proceeds past this point.

Hm.
Hello Fee, I played it (several times) with Firefox and had no problems. :-)
