It felt like such a long game, with a lot of exposition to read through, but I'd definitely want to play the next chapter to find out what happens.

Very pretty and engaging story

I've been waiting for the sequel forever! The last two were great.

That was long but worth it.
More of a visual novel than a game, but a few spots had good game mechanics.

Might not recommend for anyone who doesn't like reading though.

Thanks for introducing us to this, Bart!

Where do I find the combination for the color lock on the safe during the second story? I can't find a walkthrough anywhere!

Peter said...

Leslie: the colors that start with the same letter are opposite each other. The colors that start with letters adjacent in the alphabet are also adjacent here. White and yellow are opposite each other. Hope this helps. :)

Can't get into it today.

it was fun to play

Thanks, all, especially Anon 12:37. I'm intrigued; what does Little Willow have to do with the Trader of Stories, Myosotis? I love this fictional universe, and I can't wait for the next chapter.

Oh my goodness! That was such a lovely game. The story, characters, graphics and plot were really well done. I eagerly look forward to chapter 2.

I've never played anything like this before. I did like it, it was like reading a book, but where you have to figure out how to do stuff yourself. It was so engaging it nearly made me late for something (which is what would happen if I were reading a book), and the graphics are incredible. Just two things I didn't like about it:

Why did the names have to be so confusing? If you're going to give them names like that, why would you quiz us on them?!?

The main character is unrealistically proportioned just about to the point of ridiculosity, and, let's admit it, not wearing much. That combined with the male creators ("brothers") rang the "sexism" alarm in my head a little. Connor Ullmann put it very well on his blog when explaining why he doesn't use female characters in his games: connorullmann.com, scroll down to post labeled, "Making Heroine."

These were not enough of a deterrent to keep me away, though, and probably won't keep me from the sequel either.

Also, is that background forest music in Mixolydian? I dig that.
Don't know who this Myosotis is. Is that from a previous game?

Also, is that calm background forest music in Mixolydian? I like Mixolydian.

Who is this Myosotis? Are there other Trader of Stories games? I thought this was the first chapter. (If there are, I want to play them.)

@Nat There were some Trader of Stories games some years ago: click the 'traderofstories' label below the post, cheers!

Thanks Bart! Will play those through when I get a chance.
