extraction: chapter 0 [browser]
Extraction: Chapter 0 by Joshua Stone is a very short point and click adventure as a pilot chapter of a hopefully longer game series. You've been logged into a virtual reality, now find the cube to get out.
Yeah, this really seemed to draw from Submachine, both in terms of interface and style. But I wish he would have just not messed with a teaser and just released a full game when it was ready. This was _so_ short as to be a bit annoying.
Thanks Bart! Ready for Chapter 1 asap! I agree with others that this is a lot like the Submachine Games, but fine by me! Ready for some puzzle fun, the good escape and point/click games are getting more rare
At first reminded me of submachine, but finished in probably under 2 minutes. Much too easy and short-- Hopefully that won't be the case in the future games. I do think aiming to be like Submachine can only hurt it though-- Although there's some mystery present in this, is just doesn't hook you like SM did. It might grow to be amazing, but based off of this chapter, it seems like it's gonna be a good, but not great, series.
Thank you to everyone that kept mentioning the "Submachine" games. I have never played those before, but since everyone was talking about them it intrigued me! I just finished the first one and I loved it. Can't wait to play the rest. If anyone is like me and haven't played them either, here you go: http://www.mateuszskutnik.com/submachine/
Yep, very short. Hopefully a taste of more to come.
ReplyDeleteThis is very promising but oh so short, I want more!
ReplyDeleteGreat start. Reminds me very much of the submachine series
ReplyDeleteWhy would you post this?
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a submachine vibe, cool setting, waiting for the first full chapter!

ReplyDeleteYou warned us it was short - but it seems a very good taster of longer things to come. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, looks promising!

ReplyDeletesheesh... what a bunch of whiners... it's a teaser, it's meant to be short... it's meant to capture your curiosity... and it did :)
ReplyDeleteWell, it is called "Chapter 0" for a reason.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the whole series, and if it's half as good as Submachine was I will be thrilled.
