it is as if you were doing work [browser]

The robots are here and there is no more work to do. You feel apathetic and unproductive. Fortunately Pippin Barr is here with his latest highly philosophical creation: It is as if you were doing work.

  2. Original and Fun, albeit maybe a little too close to real work.

  3. I don't want my life to be like this :( :'( :'(

  4. Breakout was very buggy for me, with the ball frequently not breaking the blocks and occasionally passing through them entirely. Other then that, I enjoyed it. Felt a little like Stanley from The Stanley Parable.

  5. It was as if I was playing a game

  6. Is there an actually end?

  7. @Anonymous eightoclock
I got to Dialog Technician and gave up, I don't think there's really and 'end' to this 'game'.

  8. You go around in circles with job grades (you pop off the top and start again at the bottom). Also, repeatedly reading the "about" content while on a break is the fastest way to achieve promotion :-)

  9. So . . . why do I want to get promoted again?

  10. That was alarmingly difficult to quit doing.

  11. I figured I had reached the end when I got promoted to "undefined," but according to Anonymous@5:27 perhaps that was a bug. At another point my work units hit 0 without giving me a promotion, so they just stayed at 0 until eventually I refreshed the page.

  12. I would like an ending, but i suppose that is the thing about work, it seems it never ends, but i'm retired now so i don't want to be doing work all day.

  13. Cool concept. Breakout was buggy for me as well, though. It's a fun little time waster, for sure, though.

  14. I got to Chief Technology Officer and the top bar read "Work Units to Promotion/NA." Work kept piling up, but there were no more promotions.

  15. I got to "Chief Tech Executive" and the Work Points counter just read "N/A" so I assumed I was done and closed the tab

  16. I stopped playing when it typed 'Be kind to others and stern with yourself' -- about as close to corporate mentality as one can get.

  17. I work in a place where the ongoing 'promotions' roundabout is as random as this but we just have an incompetent micro manager in charge. Robots might be better.
