the illusory wall [browser]
A minimalist puzzle platformer about perspective:
The Illusory Wall by Nocity. Use the cursor keys to move and the mouse for everything else. (hint: you have to find ways to collect all the red squares).
Maybe I'm just to plain stupid for this kinda game. Couldn't even work out what to do in the first place. Just run around in circles and then reset and start from beginning???
I got all of them except "The real magic happens when nobody's looking" at the bottom of the map.
Pretty unsettling to go all the way up against a wall and then go back the other way only to fall into a hole that wasn't there before. I guess that's the point. It's an ancient human instinct to be afraid of things that happen when you can't see them; hence the fear of the dark, and the horror-movie trope of "It's right behind you."
deCarlo, the goal is to get the red squares. You can see how many you've collected because they fill the diamond spots in that door/blockade near the beginning. You do this by observing how things change when you are or aren't looking and using that to your advantage
This game reminds me of my time in the Civil War for Nepal. You'd be walking, alert. You'd hear a noise *creak* behind you and whip around, only to discover nothing there. Even today, as I live in the United States, i hear that creak. It only takes the one time. The time that I woke, turned at a sound and found a group of 7 enemies sitting in a half-circle around their fire. I was wearing very clumpy armor, and could never have gotten away unnoticed, I swear. I had no choice. I pulled the tube part of my flamethrower off my back and quietly pulled the trigger. The flames roared forward, engulfing the groups. The M-97 flamethrower is a dragon, a fiery God that purges everything in its path. Focus on the noise of the flames hard enough and you can almost convince yourself you don't hear the screams. By the time the tank is empty, nothing is left. Nothing survives. So you see, it is not the sound of the screams and infernos that keep me awake and terrified. It's the silence afterward.
"There's Always a way out" THNX!
ReplyDeleteYay! Giant red square!
ReplyDeleteThis feels like a 2D version of the game Antichamber.

ReplyDeleteSomehow, the game's not working. I reloaded and now I cannot PLAY. Everytime I jump, the window scrolls up. It's annoying =(
ReplyDeleteSara Pinilla, just click on the game screen and that should work. If not, try using the up arrow or the w, a, s, d keys.
