Here's the latest puzzlescript puzzler by Rosden Shadow: Can you climb the Skyscraper? (Z-key to undo a move, R-key to restart a level)
It takes me several tries to get one level, then it's one step forward, seven steps back, at least, then a few forward, then back, etc. to get the next level. Fascinating!
I reckon I'm on level 5, with the red and green switches: if I put the yellow block on the green switch, I can't get past it to the stairs up; if I put the pink block there, when I go towards the stairs I pull it behind me and off the switch. Any help?
Anonymous at 06:21, I think the blue squares are windows; I'm pretty sure they're the same as walls in practice.
Well I can't even play the game, what am I missing? floor 1 has a pull me ball, & floor 2 has a frozen key. Going to the stairs alone allows me to step on a pressure plate. However pulling the ball down the stairs just traps me.
@Sample, thanks! Now I'm stuck on the 6th and 7th floors. Are you still stuck there too? I've got 3 blocks (to me they look pink, yellow and purple) and 3 switches, but I can't work out how to get the pink one onto the white (lower right) switch without getting trapped behind it, or how to get the purple one to stay there when I leave, and the yellow one is stuck to the top wall.
I tried going down a couple of levels, but I still can't get them into that corner (and then I'm trapped because I moved one off a switch that blocks the stairway back up).
Unknown, that's exactly where I'm stuck too. I'm pretty sure that the pink block is the only one that can go on the white switch, but I can't figure out how on earth to get it there. I even tried moving the yellow block to the blue switch and the purple in place to move to the green switch as I pass it, but to no avail.
As for a hint: The secret to many a Rosden Shadow puzzle is exploiting the prioritization that occurs when two game mechanics cannot be fulfilled simultaneously. (And just checking: pull-block should be on red switch and Push-block should be on blue switch at the start of the level.)
Above comment was for level 5! However, for those stuck on 6/7, I think you would benefit, because getting the yellow block stuck on the top wall is not necessary to solve level 5. I'm not actually sure how the yellow block can be pushed onto the green switch without pulling the pink block off the blue one.
Thanks, Anonymous. I've got it! But I wouldn't like to try to describe how. (We were pulling the pink block off the blue switch on level 5 and then putting it back, by the way.)
One spoiler I can give: the solution to level 5 that Anonymous hints at involves putting the pink block on the green switch, after putting the yellow block where a (blue) wall is going to appear.
Oh my god! Thank you Anonymous! I'm now up and out!
In my defence, the game mechanic that you use to finish that level is neither obvious, nor shown. I was expecting it to behave like any other situation in which that occurs. Thank you again for the push!
THIS is what I've wanted out of Rosden for so long! Less about levels and more of an interconnected world. I love it.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I am stuck on the 6th and 7th floors... Can anyone help me out?
I can't give you a hint, but this Rosden guy is a genius! I can say that at least.
ReplyDeleteI can't even figure out the third level! What's the deal with the blue squares?

Unknown, the blue switch is still there. You don't have to "get past" the green switch if you trigger the blue one somehow.

The power of posting.
ReplyDeleteYa so the balls appear on the next floor in the place they were.

ReplyDeleteIn short, welcome to my world.
Got it! :)
