secret signs demo [browser]
Each puzzle hides a purpose but it is shy to show in Secret Signs demo, a 10 level demo of this innovative puzzler, still in development by Wouter Walmink.
For 10, the solution is two-fold. You are making a pattern with the stars, but the colors also give you a hint. Slide some of the stars back and forth and notice that the background color changes hues, but not necessarily in a linear fashion from end to end. There's a sweet spot somewhere along each line that creates an extreme color change. Once you get some of the stars, you might be able to find the pattern and save your eyes from squinting at bright colors.
@Urban Garlic: you're absolutely right, that's why I put a disclaimer under the Play Demo button: "Playable on desktop, best enjoyed on phone or tablet" :) The game is designed primarily for touch devices.
Love games that make me think and this one does, plus reminds me a little of the Hoshi Saga puzzles which I find immensely enjoyable. Stuck on the stars puzzle and know it's just a matter of time until I find the correct 'color'.
I don't know how to give a hint without giving it away. Umm, think of different images you can make with the shapes. They don't have to connect and it's not a cart or carriage like I originally thought. Does anyone have another hint for level 9, I tried gently moving it around and still nothing is happening, is it because I'm playing on my computer? Maybe I should try it on my phone?
I don't get it at all. WTF am I suppose to do? I'm stuck at a green square that says "Aha!" clicking, dragging, typing, none of it does anything. What am I missing?
#1 - Make a shape. #2 - Click to fill. #3 - No purple. #4 - Snake #5 - Smile! #6 - This is one way to ask for help. #7 - Left or Right? Up or Down? Moving something off the screen won't make it disappear. Or will it? Just remember to click the dot to finish. #8 - You may feel boxed in, though it isn't perfect. #9 - See it wiggle and waggle as you go round and round. #10 - Stars look their best when it is dark outside.
As you move things off the edge of the screen pay attention to what happens. A) It appears on the opposite side, and B) something happens to the background, and it is different if you do things vertically versus horizontally, and you will need a combo of the two.
Think of it as a matching game. When something goes "missing" from the screen you still need to click the dot if the puzzle hasn't already ended. :)
Interesting game. Enjoyed it very much
ReplyDeleteA hint for #10, please.

ReplyDeleteHint #10:
ReplyDeletestars normally only appear when the sky has a very special color. you can regulate the color by moving the stars in either direction.
Thank you Kiel and Lotti.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! More please :)
ReplyDeleteReminds me of Hoshi Saga "Find the Star" games. Some of the levels are not very touchpad-friendly, but they all work.

ReplyDeleteI'm stuck on the clocks. Hint please?
ReplyDeleteI'm stuck on 9...
ReplyDeleteNice one!
ReplyDeleteFor the clocks: watch if maybe something appears when you make them go round...
ReplyDeleteFor level 9: grab it and move it gently around...

In The Clocks I made a "house" shape, not a square... xD Interesting, I didn't know about the Game of Life!!
