two [browser]
Two by Chris Ainsley is a treasure-hunt style text adventure game in which almost everything consists of two words. Can you find the 10 treasures?
Yeah, the numbers puzzle is kind of evil. I got close just using trial and error, and then looked at the hint and groaned at the last variable I wasn't changing...
Thanks to Bart for posting about this game, and I really enjoy hearing all comments, positive and negative. It's all constructive. Thank you.
I posted an update of the game to solve a few little gotchas (seems quite a few people were not standing the ladder, propping the leader, resting the ladder, or leaning the ladder before climbing it). Now you can just climb the ladder and it will put it down for you.
I also noticed a few people were using LOOK APPLE, LOOK FOUNTAIN, instead of examine. I added an alias for this at the (Adventuron) system level now.
The numbers puzzle I don't apologise for. It's a late game puzzle and it's not super difficult once you know the trick. It's about noticing correlation. A bit of struggle gives you a better kick at the end of it. And of course, I posted the puzzle dependency diagram and hints if it's really standing in the way of your enjoyment :-)
Putting a red herring of an item downstream of the riddle man was a little bit naughty, but his riddle was so easy anyway, I didn't mind sacrificing his item.
A lot of people assume the flour is useless too. They'd be wrong. But it doesn't have to be used.
I really liked this game! Chris Ainsley has done a good puzzle game that took me probably an hour to finish. Some of the puzzles are really tricky and sometimes a bit overly complicated to figure out. But nevertheless a good challenge! Eager to try your next one!
Can someone post the exact order of the steps needed to enter the code? It is a frustratingly long process to enter new attempts. I am afraid I entered the correct answer in the wrong way.
I found 2 items that might be treasures but my score is still 0/10
ReplyDeleteThe score relates to the number of treasures you have placed in the treasure room.
DeletePerhaps I lack the right verb. I don't know how to use the ladder. Neither to climb the boulder nor the tall trees.
ReplyDeleteYou can DROP the ladder, then you will see a new direction UP if you can climb it.
ReplyDeletethx a lot, Bart! :)
ReplyDeleteAny hints. I have two treasures, two fruit and climbed the ladder...
ReplyDeleteCatherine ...
ReplyDeleteYou have to get to the island, maybe a boat would help?
The eggs have value, if you can find a buyer.
Oh man, that 1838 puzzle was a pain in the butt. Great game, a little annoying that you have to drop the ladder before you can climb it.
ReplyDeleteWhen your done this game try The magic cave.

Please disregard my "cave game" comment.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry about that.
Good game. You really need to examine everything to move ahead.
ReplyDeleteI can't get the sword and I can't get past the cat. I'm hooked but I'm stuck.
ReplyDeleteMikey,
ReplyDeleteYou need the help of the dog.
First, find an object that a dog might want. The dog will signal to you if you have something it likes.
Next, pet the dog, and experiment.
If you can't figure out what to do after petting the dog, decode this base64 text below for the answer:

I hope someone makes a walkthrough on YouTube for this game so I can get past and understand a bunch of things.
ReplyDeleteThank you Chris.
ReplyDeleteStumped again, I have the diamond flour garlic cant make rope and in the dungeon.
ReplyDeleteMade it to the numbers puzzle. Now REALLY STINKING STUMPED!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDownloaded that chart. Finished. Don't understand how you could do it without cheating though.
ReplyDelete@Kaden Vanciel The page with the game information has a list of hints that should help you finish the game.
ReplyDeleteWhere can I find the nest?
ReplyDeleteYeah, the numbers puzzle is kind of evil. I got close just using trial and error, and then looked at the hint and groaned at the last variable I wasn't changing...
ReplyDeleteYes, I beat it now with only a couple more hints. That riddle dude is useless, sadly.

ReplyDeletetry use boat

ReplyDeleteThanks it worked! I don't know why I didn't think of that command haha...
Something that caught me out was the "push button" doesn't work while "press button" does.

ReplyDeleteNests are usually built in high up locations...
I got the apple, but now I can't get the eggs. My hands are full.
ReplyDeleteKaden, you can drop objects anywhere you like using a DROP command:
ReplyDeleteDROP eggs
The puzzle in the tree however is that the eggs and the apple both can't be taken at the same time.
Okay. But who am I supposed to sell the eggs to when I type "sell eggs"?
ReplyDeleteI just gave the eggs to the shopkeeper and got a gold coin. I'll ask another question when I get stuck.
ReplyDeleteCan someone post the exact order of the steps needed to enter the code?

ReplyDeleteEric,
