Follow a chess knight’s little adventure on a chess board that has been torn apart across the sky in the puzzle game Knight-errant by Fractalsunrise.
@Stacey, yeah, the spacing is not really clear when there's a floating piece. Try maneuvering yourself to the corner that is closest to the floating piece you want to land on.
@Stacey, I mean the corner that is diagonally closest.. not in the same horizontal/vertical plane as your target. For example you should be able to go from B to C or B to D in the following scenario (~ being the gap between platforms):

I am a little confused about the ending though. When I highlight the closest pawn, a red square was drawn around the 2nd pawn to remind me of the danger. Yet, when I actually chose to go to the closest pawn, that "dangerous pawn" did nothing. @Coffeeteamix - you seem confused about the red square mechanic. When you hover over a piece, the red squares show you where that piece can move to. At the end, when you hover over the piece you're about to capture, the red square shows you where THAT piece can move, not which pieces can attack you from that square. There is no mechanic in the game to remind you of danger in the way you describe.
So I finished the game, letting the black pawn become a queen and take the king, but it's showing me a diagram with the 15 white pieces I took, with an empty space for the king. So is it possible to take all those pawns and also take the king without letting the pawn/queen get to him? Do you get a bonus or special ending of some kind? I'll have to try.
Hmm, just went through it again, and couldn't find a way to get the king myself. He's just hiding in that little corner where I can't get to him, he won't come out far enough. Although, come to think of it, there's another path back in the queen chase gauntlet that I couldn't explore because the queen would get me. Maybe I'll do it a third time. Such is the life of a completionist.
Nope, don't do the other paths. They're just there as bait for when the queen is still there because she can instantly take you if you try to use them. I don't think there is a way for our knight to take the king. I did discover a couple of useful little tricks this time (early bishop capture if you retreat off the section and bait one into the corner, and I managed to take the queen before the second-level pawns at the end, no idea how). I wonder what the minimum number of required moves is, and if the AI is randomized or will always react the same way to a move with all the same positioning. (I'm mostly doing this because I want to play the new Ferociter game, but I know it'll suck me in for even longer, and I have to go to bed!)
Are you talking about the parallel lines where you first encounter the white knight? There is a block missing until you defeat/capture the knight. This pattern will repeat with future encounters--you'll need to defeat the pieces you encounter for the path forward to appear.

@Nat R. It's against chess rules to actually capture the king, so that may be a good explanation.
That was GREAT. I was amazed at how the Queen actually felt like a boss battle at the end. :)
