  2. How the heck can the king ever get past an "x" to escape ?
I know that if the rook crossed and over swapped to be king.
But I can't move any piece from it's start, only swap it.
So basically your only changing the first piece's movement rules.

You usually have to juggle a few pieces so that a piece can jump the Xs and then take the King

  4. I was wondering what the "alien" in the post-game levels were (when theres a full chessboard and credits on the screen, if you look around there's actually a level there to complete) until I realized it was a checkers piece, thought that was really clever considering how closely associated the games are.

  5. Anonymous at 22:30,
I can't see a checkers piece. I can get the key and open the door, and I can see the top part of a king in the area below, but I can't get down there - there's no scrollbar and no obvious method of getting below the bottom of the browser window (in Firefox). How are you getting to it?

  6. You have to use your horse in that last regular level with the credits to get the king unstuck, and then that brings you to a whole bunch of dungeon levels with lava where eventually you'll start using checkers.

  7. Thanks, Anonymous on 30 May.
I had trouble with level 28 until I discovered something about the Alien that isn't in the Help.
Now I've run out of time again. How many levels are there?

  8. ... and I think I'm properly stuck on level 29. I can get the Alien and the Knight to the top, but I'm pretty sure I also need to get the Pawn to the top (because only a Queen can get the key from wherever I leave it and get out again), and can't figure out how. If it's just before the slide going upwards, there's nothing it can capture to move that last diagonal step. Anybody know what I'm missing?

  9. After posting I worked out what I was missing on level 29 (I had the route for the key completely wrong). I've been stuck on level 31 for a while now. "You should CHECK your actions" is presumably a reference to being in check (or to the alien being a checker?), but I don't get it. I can get the alien to the area with the rook; drive the queen round the course and open the doors on the right and the one you jump over at the start; king the alien and get it back over the main lava river ... then what? I've broken all the bridges. Am I going the wrong way entirely? Does it mean anything that the queen can go out of the main door and wander around outside the board?
