For 7 you want to try to get out of the starting area without moving the target. Then focus only on the box you had to move and the target you avoided moving. If you can figure that out then it will be obvious how to unite the top box and the bottom target, which you won't have had to move at all yet.
@first anon The game is like regular sokoban but instead of just being able to move crates on to targets (the black rectangles), you can move the targets as well as the crates, which leads to some interesting wrinkles in the puzzle-solving and mechanics.
What is up with this increban guy? How can somebody make so many clever little puzzle games? Is this all he does? Does he even exist? I can't understand it.

Thanks for the tip, I was mostly executing the moves, but knowing that the top box and the bottom target lined up snapped things together for me
@Bill Increpare is Stephen Lavelle, who invented puzzlescript and made the commercially-released games 'English Country Tune' and 'Stephen's Sausage Roll'. The latter is one of the best puzzle games ever. He also has a patreon, which funds the release of all sorts of little projects and games like these ones.
@Anon for level 8, you want to focus on the most 'powerful' mechanic for dealing with targets, which is pushing a box with a target against another target against a wall, causing the box to move onto the second target and leaving you standing on the original one. In order to make use of this technique, you'll need to perform a wrong-feeling move at the very beginning that you'll only be able to address with the final target you've freed up.
<a href="https://i.imgur.com/IzhwQxV.png>Hint: here's where you'd want to move the first box</a>
Finished! If you are stuck, it is probably around the mechanics of the black bits, which (hint) you can step over/past without them moving if you do it right.
1. Pre-position the boxes RULULLULDLLDDRRURUL 2. Go get the first goal. 4R3LULD 3. This is the trick here, pass the goal without moving it. RDLD 4. Put the upper box on to the far-right goal, LLUU5R 6. Come back and juke the 2nd goal into the 2nd box. 5LDDRRUDLLUURRURDD
For #2 there is a "shorter" (less moves) solution :
1. Pre-position the boxes (no change) RULULLULDLLDDRRURUL 2. Go get the first goal. (no change) 4R3LULD 3. (here starts the "more simple" alternative) Push the 1st goal into its crate DDLR 4. Then go up and push the other crate onto its goal LLUU5R
My walkthrough here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQol9x7q4hM (and viewing to check it's ok, I definitely think we need more levels : it's excellent but so short...)
having a hard time understanding the mechanics of this game...
ReplyDeleteGood game, stuck on 7

Level 8 is even harder than 7. Seems impossible. I give up.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a genius at these, but I can usually get through most of the levels on my own... I can't even figure out level 2!
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I sort of had to look at it sideways and then it was fun to the end.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I can tell, this is the guy who invented puzzle script. If you look at his list of games, there are lots that are of a sexual nature.
ReplyDeleteSeems I completely miss some core mechanic since I can't even figure out level 2.
ReplyDeleteThe almighty rule of posting: I just figured out level 2 :)

Any help with level 2?
ReplyDeleteExcellent game !
ReplyDelete@megan for level 2 you need to push one of the black targets outside the right room, and leave the other on the upper right corner of this same room.
ReplyDeleteThis was, as we say, "crunchy" -- levels 7 and 8 especially, I just had to stare at until finally I saw the trick, at which point they worked.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. Not sure I could do it again, but I'll probably give it a go soon.
aaarrgh, still stuck on 2!!

ReplyDeleteFor #2, actual moves:

RDLD
4. Put the upper box on to the far-right goal,
LLUU5R
6. Come back and juke the 2nd goal into the 2nd box.

@a12r13 There's no "+1" button on here, or I'd +1 that, it's nifty.
ReplyDeletegah! level 8 so simple once you get it. @Frobisher - thanks for the clue.
