that gravity glow [browser]
A short puzzlescript game made for Lowrezjam using the theme "Gravity is the enemy": That Gravity Glow by Toombler.
I'm with Anonymous #1, level 17 was tricky. I also liked the bit where the game mechanic seems to change around level 10 (a bit before, I think?), but actually if you go back you see it was the same mechanic all along.
I'm generally skeptical of both puzzlescript stuff and game jam submissions, but this one was excellent. Very good puzzles that made good use of the mechanics that were challenging in spots, but not ridiculous.
For 17, it's best to break down what you need to clear the two blocks on the right:
1) Send gravity down (so the left block drops) 2) Make gravity neutral, allowing you to push the second block one to the right 3) Send gravity upward, so to deposit the second block and clear the tunnel 4) Make gravity neutral, to exit
...There's some work to figure out how to achieve these things and escape, but breaking it down helped me get there
I played #17 for two days, I mean I would play the game and I'd do other stuff too, cut a little grass, then get right back to the game. I'd get frustrate and go out side and look around the yard, then go back to the game. I was determined to bet 17. Then today at 10:00 pm I won. I finally figured it out. Good boy.
Seems like all of us have finished the levels so far. Here's to Toombler hopefully adding more levels to this game and Bart hopefully adding more games here for us to play.
This was a fun game. Last level took me quite a few tries. After figuring it out, it was pretty simple.
ReplyDeleteNearly impossible to play because I can't see my character unless I turn the brightness all the way up. Even then, it's a trial.

ReplyDeleteA smashing good time!
ReplyDeleteNone of those overly hard levels.
Loved the novel game mechanics.

ReplyDeleteCan I get a hint for 17?

ReplyDeletehint for level 16? I cannot figure it out. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous at 22:08, can you turn on gravity without falling into the "pit" at the top center?
ReplyDeletenevermind about level 16. power of posting lol
ReplyDeletefor anyone else who needs a hint: think about how you can push a block while falling in the right spot.

Same for 17 after figuring it out it looks easy, but finding first and/or second step was not easy.

@Toombler I love your game and am totally stuck on level 27 - can anyone help a guy out?
ReplyDeletei've just beat level 27, here's a hint:
