return of the slimepires [browser]

Return of the SLIMEPIRES! is a new platformer by Sophie Houlden. You awake in a remote part of Bunker 4103, and if you want to remain human you must reach the bunker's deepest point: the safe room.

  1. I kept glitching thru stuff until the game crashed.
Looked like a fairly big game before I quit.

  2. I'm still trying to figure out how to get to that area in the 2nd screen where the spikes stop you...so far turning into a slime monster can get you down there, but unable to progress further. There's got to be something I'm missing

  3. Only been able to get endings B and C, no idea where ending A is...

It was hard for me to keep track of the map and how many area exits there were because the game was too tall to fit in my browser screen... Also managed to get endings B and C, but for some reason I ended up with 3 pictures on my starting screen, so I figured maybe ending A was just death? Probably missed something though, I'll have to come back to it.

  5. Ending A: look for a hidden passageway and the safe room will change.
Now I wonder if there is an ending D related to the "spiky area" in the 2nd screen...

  6. I made the first post here & resisted saying "first."
I figured I would give this game another try.
I selected new game, new cart, new game, continue, ect...
It keeps giving me the other start menu so I can't play now.

  9. Strange, I had found the hidden passageway, but it hadn't changed the saferoom at all, from what I can tell. Unless there's a different passageway I missed

  10. I think I see how Ending A works now.

You need to also kill every moving enemy present in the level before going to the saferoom.

Your character will turn red as a result.

  11. Still no luck with the 2nd room secret passage. You're immune to the spikes if you become a slime zombie, but then you can't shoot the switch. There's got to be something missing...

  13. I am SO CONFUSED as to how to play this. I can't get past the first gate. Help!

  14. @Anno: First gate? sis you shoot the red orb?

    @Callalore

Cool, After you become the one can't hurt anyone anymore,
But if you do and die. the opening to the place to become the one is closed.

Also you can activate a checkpoint and return to 100% human

By 1: kill by shooting a barrel
and 2: fire a shot at the checkpoint

  15. Yes! I was able to play all the way thru today.
All I had to do was download it.
Not a bad game after all eh?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Any clues on Ending A? Have got B, C, and D

    ReplyDelete
  17. @Callalore thanks for the hint on Ending D, the boss is even harder to beat than Ending A!

  18. @anon

For A, Kill as much as you can till you turn RED.

    Then go for the end.

PS: kill count for ending A is reset after you die.

  19. Help. I can't even get the game to start. Does it have to be downloaded or can it be played in the browser (chrome)? The only thing that even responds on the title page is if I hit Enter, I can scroll through "Continue; Options; Reset" but I can't select any of them. "New Game" is at the bottom and nothing I do affects it.

  20. Trying to enter the secret room in the 2nd screen... I don't want to read all the comments and try for myself. I just got the B ending, wondering how to get the rest. I first played on mobile and liked it although sometimes I would slide by accident, virtual controls aren't as accurate.

  21. Ending D: I get the power-up in the secret room, but where do I go from here to actually see the ending?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Ah, nevermind, I see the spiky passage that one can't access as a human

    ReplyDelete
  23. Defeated the queen, that was ending... A?

    ReplyDelete
  24. So, it's been long enough I think, if you want ending d/ getting down the spikey passage, you need to do a full run without killing.

  25. Thanks Anon and Callalore. I'd never have guessed ending C. I was very confused because ending A activated while being a slimepire so I thought that was the trigger.

  26. Fun fact: In the vertical room with all the slimepires, there's a place at the bottom you can sneak into and get more computer lore.

Just failed my genocide run twice in a row. Seems like an obnoxious requirement to get secrets.

Here are some basic tips that I never figured out my first time through that make all this much easier:
    - First of all, Z to select a menu option. Don't use Enter, that's the pause button.
    - Holding down X allows you to keep shooting at maximum speed without moving, and holding down arrow keys while holding X allows you to shoot diagonally up and down. Just be careful not to release X before the down arrow or you'll accidentally slide.
    - You can stand inside explosive barrels (they don't have collision) and shoot without setting them off.
    - Once you get hit/infected you have to get to a checkpoint as fast as possible to avoid turning into a slimepire.
    - Once you do turn into a slimepire, if you want to become a human again you have to hold X to self-destruct and respawn at a checkpoint. This, spikes, explosions (I think), and the death plane in the bottom area are the only four ways you can die, but any time you die, EVERYTHING in the world respawns.

It would be nice if the game explained more of this. Some experimentation being required makes sense, but getting stuck as a slimepire and having no idea how to undo that is really frustrating.
