sokoban... in 3d! [browser]
Get every crate on its matching target, shouldn't be too difficult, until it turns 3d, Sokoban... in 3D!, a puzzlescript puzzler by Beekie. (Z key to undo a move, R key to restart a level)
Can't just have a simple new dynamic level? I managed to get half way through the 2nd level. Can't push two items, unless they are stacked. Can't push the proper 2 together now either.
I really must have missed distribution of intelligence. 30min and no clue at all on what to do at LvL 2. Since X (action?) doesn't seem to do anything, I tried all other keys on my keyboard (even simultaneously) but no luck!
Luckily for the designer some people managed to have fun. But for me this is just frustrating!
hint 1: get on the walls! :) hint 2: which one of the objects in the level is the problem child? hint 3: use everything you have. what is the problem child's range of movement? hint 4: if it can't move very far, can you bring its friend to it? (still use everything you have, since aside from the problem child it shouldn't be hard to tidy up afterwards!)
Can't move little orange into the hole unless your on the drop zone. Can't get little orange to any other drop zone either. Can't push little orange with big orange. So that leaves me with stacking & wall top push. Tidy up is a lot of the problem. I can't get to the outer wall without something getting stuck. I can't help thinking this is not possible.
HINT: For a long time I was on the wrong track, while I figured - with excluding everything else - that I MUST move the small orange block further from its place. I thought it is impossible, but is not. It is not the right solution to make the small orange thing stuck and drop the orange square on it later.
> That small orange block is the problem. How did you move it without it getting stuck? Enquiring minds want to know.
Hint: you should be able to figure out what possible squares you can move it to (a limited set), and then figure out how the hell you're supposed to beat the game with these constraints
Finally got it. Yikes. For some reason the hints about getting piece up on the walls and stacking three high were not sufficient for me, there was another ingredient I was missing. I won't try to describe it unless asked -- this is one of those cases where IMO spoilers are bad, you really want to get this on your own, or you'll be kicking yourself so hard.

ReplyDeleteI managed to get half way through the 2nd level.

That got hard instantly.
ReplyDeleteThere are only 2 levels though
ReplyDeleteWow, what a game. I love it. Already a game for the Top10 of the year for me. Thanks for sharing Bart.
ReplyDeleteNice game.
ReplyDeleteLot of thinking and trying before I got the 3d Level
Nice one !

Ok, let's roll some clues. I've managed to get the orange cube on top of the blue cube.
ReplyDeleteWhere do you from here?
hint 1: get on the walls! :)

Wow, very good little game!

That small orange block is the problem. How did you move it without it getting stuck? Enquiring minds want to know.
ReplyDeleteVery very tough indeed!
ReplyDeleteMore hints please!!
ReplyDeleteOnce you figure it out, you will hate yourself for taking so long.
ReplyDeleteIncredible little puzzle, one of the more brilliant self-contained games I've ever seen like this

Ok I finally got it!
ReplyDeleteHint: stack 3 high.
I have managed to move the small orange piece up from its original spot, but I'm still stuck.

Try to get a piece on the walls

ReplyDeleteOMG, finally!
ReplyDeleteThe most satisfying game (once I finally got it)
