wordward draw [browser]
Find all picture words by exploring the set of 4 letter words and either changing one letter or rearranging all letters in WORDWARD DRAW by Daniel Linssen.
Well I don't have time for this right now. I got lots of words but only one new picture word. Mine was STAR. For some reason my word got darker & darker on the dark background. Since I can't type without looking I need a lamp on to see the keys. Ok I feel like I am typing too much, got to go to work.
You can press tab to see mostly ???? but a couple of the picture words to go to too, more picture words open as you go. QUIZ got me thinking for a while.
I finally got all the picture words! This was a fun challenge! It was especially rewarding when my brain figured out a path of three or four or five words to get where I needed to be. Thanks Bart!
I really enjoyed it! I would appreciate a statistic at the end how many words I used, which words I used more times, what was the longest path etc. It is amazing how many four-letter word exists in English. :) After finishig you can continue playing, I thought maybe if I make the word "exit" that will end it, but not. :)
How many four-letter words are there? Free Dictionary claims that there are 149,165 words that are made using four letters. However, the Official Scrabble Player's Dictionary states that there are 3,996 legal words that can be used in that specific word game. Now how many are "bad 4 letter words"?
Well, given that there are only 456976 possible combinations of 4 letters (at least in the English 26-letter alphabet) I'm more inclined to believe Scrabble's number.
Well I am tired of trying to use common words, only to be told they are new or slang. When there are soooooooo many that work, but I have never heard of!
I've played a few word ladder games on Sporcle and other sites, but this one was really fun to play. Simple game but executed in a new and satisfying way.
Finished it after a few days. My last word was "idea" which was tricky.
After typing about a dozen four letter words that were one letter different than the original word and which are legitimate words and having nothing happen, I gave up. I'm not sure I'm understanding how it's meant to be played. You type the first word, then another word that's one letter different or an anagram of the first word, isn't that right?
So fun! Love the clever twist on word ladders. I was so taken with this, I stayed up late to complete it in one go! The words 'idea' and 'quiz' were my last two. Really appreciated that you can get to a word through an anagram. Thanks, Daniel and Bart!
My one ask, and I also see it in the game comments, would be a way to enter any word you've already visited, or even just one of the discovered picture words.

Somehow, this seems like it should be fun, but it wasn't for me.

Is there no browser version?
ReplyDeleteAh, figured it out. For anyone wondering, screen needs to be wide enough to toggle browser version
ReplyDeleteLove this game! My last word was "xray". Thank you, Bart, for sharing this game with us.
ReplyDeleteHope everyone is having a great summer!
SOOO satisfying. A really great game.

Very fun word game! It felt very good to finally be able to get all the picture words. By the way, the last word I got was "shoe".

ReplyDeleteiron just about whipped me. Great game
ReplyDeleteNice game, well defined, smooth play. Gets a bit same-y after the first 50 words or so, but still satisfying to complete.
ReplyDeleteFWIW there really are no hard words, just hard paths between words.
quiz => quit => suit
iron => icon => coin
idea => aide => side/tide/wide
All easily findable by a Web search. But finding the path that gets you from (say) side to atom is not so easy.
