Other Hint:
If a new digit appears where you are standing, you can push the old digit without moving the new.
This game is cool, but really needs an undo button.
Things I wish I knew before reading the Itch.io comments: The letters I, X, L, C, M are keyboard shortcuts. This is not a spoiler, just less wear on your keyboard. Otherwise, a very clever game with very simple elements. Many thanks. (Could have used an "undo" and an automatic game save. Or did I miss the shortcuts for those too?)
