the boxed visionary [browser]

Robbie was a visionary, he would see only what he wanted to: The Boxed Visionary, a puzzle game by Rowbay. Use the Z key (or the W key if you are on azerty) to undo a move.

  1. Nice mechanic, but I'm ironically stuck at New perspectives...

  2. I made it out and almost all the way back, but it feels that "what he's lacking" is one more block. Anyone make it to a real ending?

  3. I agree with the ending. I was lacking a box, and I saw no possible way to get things aligned to get it. Is there something more? Anyone got a video, this thing doesn't save, and I don't like it enough to do it all again.

  4. I think I got to the end. At least, his "vision" filled the whole screen and there was "WiN" spelt out in crates and metal boxes. Didn't see any way forward or back from there. A good idea with good Sokoban-y puzzles but, man, could it use either an automatic save or restore points.

  5. Why so much security?

  6. So he realized he was trapped in a room!

Great level design by the way.

  7. It took me a long time but i got it. I got stuck on the screen after the "what he's lacking" part for some time.

Here is a hint if you are stuck there (it's in rot13): Nyy gur ebbzf ner pbaarpgrq fb tb onpx naq ybbx gb frr vs gurer vf fbzrjurer lbh unir abg orra orsber be fbzrguvat guvf arj ovttre crefcrpgvir nyybjf lbh gb qb gung lbh pbhyq abg orsber.

  8. Is there really no room reset button? If I made a mistake 50 moves ago that makes the room unsolvable, do I have to just mash Z 50 times?

  9. I sure do love not being able to finish the game during a multi-room puzzle because of a move I made near the beginning of the game. It's alright other than that, but god what a poor decision to let that be possible.

  10. For anyone that has solved this thing and actually gotten to the end, can you share some hints? I've tried this thing about 10 different times. I've backtracked and what have you, blowing up wooden boxes and moving metal ones. Despite this, I absolutely cannot see how you can get past that last room where "you are lacking." I cannot see a way to get a box positioned to get you out. Video? Walkthrough? Graph paper? I don't care. I'd just like to see how this thing is solved.

  11. Spoiler alert to anon:

The last box . . . At the end of the game your "vision" has expanded to let you explode that box blocking you from moving the metal box to block the lower right laser. Remember to push the other one up one space so when you come back around you can push it to block the middle laser, which will allow you to push the final metal box to the final upper-left laser. Whew.

We all did this at the end. You can do most of it as you're pushing that metal box rightward along the bottom row. Good luck.

  12. I'm having the same problem and this is helpful. But how do you get up from the "what he was lacking" room and back across without getting shot? I see no way to get two of the metal boxes down. You have to block those two lasers on the left side.

  13. I'm stuck too. Spoiler alert but no ending:

If you number the rooms left to right, top to bottom like a key pad, you start at room 1, work your way around to room 8 where you can retrieve a block to bring back. On your way thru room 5 you can access room 2 and push blocks around for later. In room 6 you can use your expanded vision to get rid of two wooden crates, and use your first block to get the two blocks from the upper sub-room, but you have to leave the first block behind. Still in room 6, use one of the two blocks to get you past the middle laser, then push the one remaining block up the alley to room 3. This is where I get stuck. I can use my one block to block the right hand laser and trade it for the block below the laser, which can be pushed left to block the middle laser. But now I'm out of blocks but not out of lasers.

    More help anyone?

  14. SPOILER II

I think both of you are stuck in the far-right top layer room. (Room 3) The trick here is to push the metal box blocking the laser to the right so you can go around and get it (push it down and left) That gives you the two metal boxes you need. Then slip by out of the laser's reach.

Btw, there are save points, of a sort. Seems you can't undo past any of the torches.

  17. Made a walkthrough

With the Easter egg and made a couple of mistakes that I had to backtrack on.

  19. Love the fact that the story made sense told forwards and then backwards. So what he was lacking was that he wanted to be a visionary, and once he stopped that, i.e. once he removed his ego from the equation, he was indeed a visionary .. maybe!
